Decisions, Decisions? ?

Greetings Friends~ ~ ~
I love this sweet and lacy little Beret.
I have been looking for a little Beret to knit for this winter. I wear lots of hats and have knit many but I wanted a lacy little hat. How do you like this one? The pattern is free on the web at Sweet Georgia's blog. If you would like the patters stop over and have a look. She is a superb knitter and also dyes her own yarns to sell and they are luscious.

I got out a few of my stash boxes looking for the perfect yarn for the hat.
I bought the Nature Spun for a hat & scarf. Could this be it?
The next two yarns are mohair from a little farm in the North East. I bought these for socks and I think they are too thin.

The cream yarn is Alpaca from Pennsylvania Alpacas and everyone knows Lamb's Pride. I believe both of these are to thick for this pattern.
Only swatching will tell.

I love these colors golds & reds & browns but this is also sock yarn. Too thin?
Oh Joy! As I was rooting around in the boxes I found some yarn I forgot I had and enough for a sweater too. Yippee! Lamb's Pride bulky in blue.
The other ball is also a bulky, Prism by Colinette Yarns. Beautiful stuff. Time to start swatching. Why do I always do this? Haven't I got enough projects started? Because I want a hat and it's getting chilly outside.

The Metamorphosis from yarn to hat begins. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to comment and say Hello.
Stop by at Susan's Met Monday Post and see links to everyone who is playing along this week. It's always a fun event.

A Second Look

Hello Friends~ ~

Above is the little table dressed for Fall.

Last week I posted this table decorated in summer dressing. If you'll remember I got so excited when I saw what Artie had done that I just grabbed what was available and that meant all the items I was packing away for the season. Nothing like doing it all twice in one year. I loved the look but lets be practical, it's fall so the summer deco has got to go.
This is the little table just after I painted it.

Above is the summer deco I did in a hurry.

This is the fall deco against all the colored leaves of Fall.
I'm thrilled to have my own little corner to knit and work on craft projects.
You can see above that the Valances match the tablecloth. I had two yards left over
from sewing the valances last summer when we moved in.
It makes a great table cloth.
All I did was put it in the washer to fringe the edges for a casual look.
I put roll up shades on the 10 windows in the sun room to keep it cooler
in the hot summer months and to keep the warm air in on winter nights.
The valance is for the shades to hide under when not in use.
I used a few of the same objects and added the little glass pumpkin. There is a local artist who makes them and it was a gift from a friend.

This is a lace project I started in the basket with a few balls of yarn.

Changed out the pink geranium for ivy in a tin box.

This is the sweater I'm working on. The back is finished, this is the start of the front.
Mittens I wish I was talented enough to make. . .someday perhaps.

Make it a Great Week

Bright and Shiny

Greetings Friends~ ~ ~

I scored big this weekend at an antique shop in upstate Pennsylvania.
We took a little vacation and of course I had my eye opened for Antique shops.
I love this pattern and just could not pass it up. The knives and forks are hollow and are 6 sided. It feels really good in your hand.
I feel like Bill must feel when he gets a great deal.
You know how he finds the best buys.
All this for $20.
Looks like I need some silver polish.
What is your favorite silver polish? Many years ago I got rid of all my silver and now I am in need. Please leave a comment and share with me what you like to use.

I am participating in Met Monday and Susan is our lovely host.
Please visit her at Between Naps On The Porch.

Can't wait to see how it looks all Bright and Shiny!

Thanks for stopping by and for your assistance.
