I recommend Martha's recipe.
The only change I make is using
4 cups of fresh pumpkin
instead of 3 cups.
I just process the pumpkin then add
everything else slowly to the processor.
Pour into shells, bake.
It looks involved but really if your just looking
at the custard part its so simple and
My Oh My, is it delicious!
Print it out and read it through, you will see.
These 3 are from my neighbor George.
He is my source for all things that grow.
The 2 on the left are the two I have already
made pies with and I recommend both types.
The white one will made a pie, maybe next week.
We have been eating lots of pumpkin pies and
everyone is lovin' it!
I just cut them in half, scoop
out the seeds, put on cookie sheets
and bake at 350* till fork tender.
Time depends on the size.
Time depends on the size.
I saved seed for next year just in case I
feel the need to grow a few myself.
This is the Cinderella Pumpkin.
Instead of a rolled crust I love to use
Stauffer's Ginger Snaps for the crust.
Be warned, the taste is Divine but,
the crust may be soggy the next
day so you will have to eat it all the day it's baked.
I crush them in the food processor
mix with melted butter and sugar
and press into the dish.
Bake 10 minutes then cool before filling.
Bake 10 minutes then cool before filling.
They are widely available in these parts.
These Ginger Snaps have a real Zing!
They sort of bite your tongue back.
You can also have them shipped from their website.
Yesterday I took a walk around the yard and clipped greens for a centerpiece. Poked in a few artificial mums, some dried leaves. . .done.
Another project.
I love this simple polish.
It's a can full of wadding with the polish already applied.
A woman's work is not done yet. . .This is what awaits me tonight while I watch Dancing with the Stars.
I am linking this week to Marty @ Table Top Tuesday
Michael Lee West for Foodie Friday
Wishing you all a Blessed Thanksgiving.
I am Thankful for each one of you.

You are SO right about home made pumpkin pie... There is nothing like it! I also make it if I have some left over butternut squash or sweet potatoes...AND I too love those ginger snaps(AND OH do they have SNAP),we can get them at most of our grocers here in my part of Connecticut... Hugs to you, and have fun "POLISHING"!!!

I have never made pumpkin pie from scratch but it is encouraging to see it in your photos. I bet it tastes much fresher, too. And for some reason I thought Cinderella pumpkins would be white inside, too! lol!!
Your centerpiece is beautiful...I love the smell of the fresh greenery. Unfortunately, we don't have any evergreens on our property. I have to buy it at the garden center.
I am starting to work on my silver tomorrow. I keep putting it off! Those wipes look good. Let me know how they do,

Those pumpkin pies look amazing. Nothing beats homemade pie.
SOO yummy! Thanks for stopping by!
There is nothing like a pumpkin pie!
Happy Thanksgiving.
I'm making pumpkin pie from scratch for the first time this year. My 91 year old mother-in-law isn't up to it for the first time. I'm taking her guidance and recipe and hope it passes. I'll be sure to insist it isn't as good as hers but I'll promise to work at getting it right.
Your pies look delicious.
I want to find that silver polish! I spent hours polishing just last week. I love gingersnaps and I think we may get these! Sounds terrific!
I appreciate you sharing
Hope you have a great weekend,
Kathy
Martha and I are having a little tiff this week. I am miffed that she failed to include live poinsettias in this year's Christmas Edition of Martha Stewart Living :)

But I'm sure I'll get over it soon 'cause I really DO love Martha!
Gingersnaps for the crust? Yumm!!! Thanks for sharing. Following you back!
What yummy looking pies! and I love your stash of silver! I've been doing a lot of polishing lately, too! Hope you are having a great week!...hugs...Debbie
i've always wanted to try a made-from-scratch pumpkin pie, but didn't know which pumpkins to buy...or where. they look yummy!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks for stopping by too!
Yummy! i love pumpkin pie made from scratch. I usually save my Halloween pumpkin (one that is not carved) and cook it up for the Thanksgiving pies. A couple of years ago, my niece was visiting from college, and she was so amazed that I would make a pie that way, instead of from a can. These days she loves to make everything from scratch. Slow food, and community vegetable gardens are her passion now.
Oh I love homemade pumpkin pie! I did not know until after I graduated from college that you could buy it in a can! My mom grows what they call a "candy roaster" and that's what she used for her pies. It's the crust I cannot make! Thanks so much for stopping by!!
