Snow Storm Entertainment

Hello Friends~ ~
This is what we woke up to this morning and it's still snowing. We have about 18" of snow on the ground. This is the view outside the back door from the sun room.

Isn't it beautiful lying over everything, untouched?
This shot is through the screened window out onto the road by the house.
We got the cross country skis out this morning. Should be fun.

The birds are eating large amounts of food. We are filling the feeders every hour and putting seed on the ground for the doves, sparrows and cardinals who prefer to ground feed. There are so many birds here that the feeders cannot accommodate them all. Everytime I step up to the window to try to get a picture they scatter.

This sweetie loves it when it snows because it's the only time he gets to go outside. If the snow is deep enough he can't get very far so out he goes for a little romp.

This is my snow entertainment a new knitting project. I've had this bulky yarn for some time now and thought great, this will be a quick knit. Oh yeah, was I wrong. I really have to pay attention because every row is different. Reading the rows and the chart at the same time. Was I nuts?!

This is the pattern from the book "French Girl Knits". It's called "Wrenna".

I love this book. It has a few sweaters in it that I really want to knit. Like this lovely cream one on the cover.

This is my progress so far. I am using Lambs Pride Bulky in Brite Blue.
So. . .What are you doing if you are snowed in this weekend? Cooking is always another option for me and will happen later today. We will be having Vegi Lasagna tonight. Something warm and hearty. How about you? Stay warm and dry.

Snowed in here. Mostly sleeping and eating, but we're going to venture out soon. Beautiful patterns! I always anted to knit, but it confuses me greatly. One day maybe I'll just sit down and figure it out.

The views from your house are lovely! I heard that Pennsylvania was very hard hit with snow and your photos are proof positive!!

I have always wanted to learn to cross country ski up at the lake. Hopefully one of these days. I can imagine that it is a great workout!

Your sweater is going to be beautiful. I love the back of it!

Beautiful Kitty! Stay warm and cozy! :-)

Oh I'm very familiar with tons of snow! We haven't had our "fair share" yet this winter... a little low in inches so far...but normally...we get hit hard!
I love the color of your yarn~ very beautiful~
I picked up a counted cross-stitch... and I didn't really think I actually had to COUNT! ;o) I can't just mindlessly cross-stitch... oh dear~ I have to think all day... next time, it will be color coded!
Enjoy the cozy weather~ Maria

Uh...I think I'll stay here in Florida, even though it hasn't been its usual tropical self this winter. The pics are beautiful, though. Also the sweather looks as if it will be fantastic. I envy your skill at being able to make it!
Take care and stay warm.

Thank you so much for leaving a comment on my blog! Your dining room set is so pretty!!! I have a crappy old dining set that I'm hoping to redo somehow.

Hi Ahrisha- Thanks for leaving me such a nice comment. Your snow pics are great. Are you ready for 18 - 24" more on Tues/Wed. We just got finished chipping all the ice off the driveway. The weather guys here in Phila say this next storem is going to bring wet heavy snow - harder to shovel. To look on the bright side I will get a Snow day from work. Your sweater is very beautiful, I love the detail.
Stay warm and dry.

Ahrisha, The snow is really pretty in your pictures. It hadn't snowed here in our part of Virginia for the last 6 years...Until we moved here from Florida. We are on our 5Th snow storm this year! Thanks for visiting and your kind comments on my mirror with roses.

Hi Ahrisha-

I am getting ready for the snow too. I have planned to take the day off from work tomorrow, I am not even going to attempt to go in. On my kitchen cabinets, I used Sherwin Williams Antique White in Semi-gloss. I bought a 5 gallon bucket of it. In my kitchen where there is a lot of light it almost looks white. In my basement on the walls, the same paint from the same bucket it looks taupe, because there is only a little bit of natural light shining in. I hope this helps you out. Enjoy your snow day tomorrow.

What a beautiful sweater! I just started knitting last year...but haven't gotten very far, I'm afraid. I have too many things stealing my time! Maybe some day...

The color is stunning! LOVE it!
