Today Has Been A Strange Day

Hello Friends~ ~

The other day I was sitting on the sofa just relaxing, imagine that? I left my eyes go soft and I looked around and thought. .You are pretty lucky girl! You are living in a lovely home with family and a feeling of gratitude swept over me. I snapped a few shots of what I saw. Do you see the black kitty sitting in the doorway? I'm grateful for him too.

The double glass doors lead to the sunroom.

This is not exactly what I would have choosen as decor had I done it myself but the location of the house and the situiation fit our needs perfectly. We are very close to loving family and we are Blessed with wonderful neighbors.

I prefer hardwood floor to wall to wall carpet it's definately different as the w to w is patterned.
The border around the ceilings is almost more than I can handle but I solved that problem by not looking at it! I only look at the things I am grateful for. I would like to say that this follows through in the rest of my life as well.

A few crappy things happened today but I dealt with them and now I am moving forward. How do you deal with it when things go wrong for you. Do you bitch and moan about it to everyone you see during the day or do you deal. . .and Move On?

Life is really a pretty good thing (got that from Martha) I like to look at the good stuff because looking at the good and not the bad will Always bring to me more of the good. And look at all I have to be Thankful for. I'm sure that you can count your many Blessings too. Stop, and do it now! Don't wait another minute run through the list of what you are Thankful for right NOW!
Go ahead, everything else will wait~ ~ ~ ~Now, take a deep breath. Doesn't it feel good?
Thanks for listening and playing along.
Love to all of you

So true! I actually like your patterned carpet, it's kind of victorian looking. I usually prefer hardwood too, but that is cool! Your home is so lovely! Cindy

Thank you for such a thoughtful post -- one of my favorite sayings is -- "We can complain because rose bushes have thorns....or we can rejoice that thorn bushes contain roses". Sometimes we can miss the beauty that is contained in each and every day -- and a reminder of that is always timely!

Ooooooooo! This put a little twinge in my stomach. Yesterday, at school, everything with technology went wrong, and when that happens, you bet I have to deal with it, but I do have to vent to my best friend, just to get the heat off my chest. Now, I must take time to praise God for more blessings than I can count. Thanks.

Your home has a bit of a Victorian look. I like it. I liked it when you said (about the stuff you didn't like) that you just didn't look at it! I love that attitude. Keep it up!!

Thanks for stopping by 504 Main. I really enjoyed your post...I do try to stop and remember how lucky I am and be grateful for what I have I "think" things seem a little crappy. I use this even when dealing with my kiddos....I love them with all my heart and when we have trying days I remember how wonderful they are and how lucky I am two have two healthy happy kiddos.

I need to keep the attitude you have about the things you do not like in your home in the forefront of my mind. My home has its faults, but I do need to remember the good things.

I thought your musings were wonderful... the house is adorable and I loved that you didn't like something so you didn't look at it!!! Great attitude!

Very thought-provoking and touching post, Ahrisha. I try to remember to do exactly what you did today. I sometimes moan for a while, but try to remember to be thankful for family, friends, and all the good things in life.

I think your home is lovely, and I love your "solution" of not looking at something that displeases your eye!

Have a great weekend!

Ahrisha, one of the great gifts of growing old is the ability to assess a situation differently. Most things are small in the light of eternity and aren't worth getting upset about. It's just a shame it took me so long to realize it :-). Have a wonderful weekend. Blessings...Mary
