Summer To Fall

Hello Friends~ ~ ~
This is the way my diningroom buffet looked all summer.
My Great Grandmother's pitcher and bowl set. Isn't it lovely on the white buffet with the lace?
I am so grateful to have it and in perfect condition too.

My Mother would display it when I was young so now we both can enjoy it here.

I am not a fan of matchy matchy so you will see that both sides of my buffet decorations are balanced, but they do not match. I really like that. This is a close up of the left side.

This is what it looks like dressed for fall.
Mostly the same things with just small changes.
A pumpkin and a few leaves. A fallish candle.
Also I changed out the crystal candleholders for brass.
Seemed to say fall to me
Oh and the new wallpaper border.
Here again, I have used a stack of books to get a pleasing height for the lamp.
Books are great for changing heights.
The apples didn't last long they are now in canning jars as applesauce.

This is a little arrangement I did for the one side wall in the diningroom.
An old lace hanky, some dried leaves and a few cranberry branches.
I love the little wire star on the side and a tag I made last year.

So true. Don't forget to D..r..e..a..m!
Wishing you a dreamy week.

My thanks to Susan for hosting Met. Monday.
Hop on over and see what's going on this week.

I love how warm it looks! The white looks really sharp with the fall decor, too. :) Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Love the gorgeous bowl of apples! and the tall arrangement is just wonderful.

Thanks for the tip on adding books to adjust the height of a lamp. Great idea!

Hi Ahrisha,
Everything looks so pretty. That sideboard (dresser?) is great, and I love the new arrangement. Yum, fresh homemade applesauce, guess you have to use wooden apples for your display next time!
Thanks for visiting, come back soon!

Hi Ahrisha,

It's been a busy summer at our house with our kids and grandkids coming for vacations. Plus we have a few projects going on around here.

I love the fresh look of your fall decorating, I haven't even started to get anything together, guess I should start with the wreaths on the front doors first.

My new camera isn't working so I can't post any pictures until it is repaired. :( But I'll keep coming by to see what your up to.

Take care....

I agree that brass says Fall--guess because of the warm shiny hues. I have used books that way and ha! last night I used a very old HUGE dictionary that is about 7 inches in thickness (my hubby used to sit on it as a child for an impromptu booster seat and he is now 56). ANyways,,,,,,, I used it to lift up a pumpkin ;-)

Oh, this is so wonderful! And I love that saying: We don't remember the days we remember the moments! :) Lovely. Thanks for the inspiration!

You did great decorating, and your grandmother's pitcher is lovely. I have always had to be "matchy matchy" but I am trying to let go and allow God to work his creativity within me. Thank you for showing how great it can be.

Hi Ahrisha - your buffet is decorated stunningly!!!!!! I absolutely adore everything about it.

Love the kitties too... they all look so cute!

Thanks for your nice comment about my eggplant parm recipe. I usually add some grated parm to the seasoned bread crumbs, but I forgot all about it this time around (that's what I get for only making it once every 4 or 5 years).

Have a great weekend!

Nicely done, Ahrisha! I liked your idea of replacing the crystal candleholders with brass to coordinate with the Autumn colors you're incorporating.

Thank you for your visit and thoughtful comment. I hope your week goes well.

Bill
