Hello Friends~ ~ ~I have a different sort of Metamorphosis to share this Monday. This is a collection of vintage linens I got for a steal a few weeks ago at Shupps Grove Antique Market. 
In this collection is an old torn apron that I loved for the style. It's the blue apron with red flowers. Great old fabric isn't it? I used this old apron as a pattern and transformed it into this.
Don't you just love the fabric? It was designed by Diane Knotts for Clothworks Fabrics. She is a wiz at fabric design and has just released a new line for fall. You can see it here on her blog. 
The neckline has little cut-out loops that I lined with brown binding as I did all around the apron. I changed the pocket and made it deeper so I could keep my phone in it. 
What I really loved about this apron is the back. There is a large panel with loops to run the ties through and it keeps it nicely in place so it doesn't shift around on you. I have been sewing all my life and I am finding that I love making and wearing aprons. They seem to be Hot right now too.

That is a beautiful apron! I love all the unique details and the fabric is adorable! Aprons are very popular right now, you need to set up an etsy shop and sell them!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I really like the aprons taht are coming back! I can hardly wait to see the quilt you're doing. I have really started to love applique too! Which method do you use? I use the freezer paper method but right now am working on a wall hanging for my granddaughter and it uses Steam A Seam which is good for this particular wall hanging. I'll be posting the entire quilt in about 10 days after the wedding shower. This quilt I was binding is for my future DIL and my son who are getting married in 19 days, AUGGGGHHHH!! Can you tell I'm a little stressed? LOL! I'm going to book mark you and I'll be back to look your blog over closer later. Cindy

You KNOW how to sew well I see. I am a fledgling or barely fledging at sewing. Loved the fabric at the store. There were cute acorns and leaves that are right up my alley!!! Thanks for showing those.
What a coincidence to read about aprons - I was just reading the book 'Outliers' today, and it told the story of an immigrant couple who lived in NYC in the early 1900s, and were trying to figure out what textile to sell. The husband would wander the city every day, observing what the vendors sold, and what people wore. One day he came across a group of young girls, and one of the girls was wearing a cute apron - and he decided to create aprons. It was such a huge success that it was the beginning of his clothing empire!
