Tin Can Vase?

Hello Friends~ ~ ~

Summer to me, means more casual dinners.
Relaxed entertaining.
Here is a great idea for a centerpiece.

Save a few of your tin cans and soak the labels off.

As a liner for each can I used a small bottle
or a plactic cup to put the water in.
I didn't want the cans to rust for this purpose.
Even though I do love the rusty look if you do
then skip the liners.
You could even set them outside in the rain
for a few weeks.

Fill with your favorite flowers from the garden.
Sometimes I even stop along the road for the pretties.

The Rose Of Sharon and yellow daisys
are from my garden.

The napkins are dish cloths,
good heavy cotton cloths.

I adore using side dishes that are unique,
I have two different patterns and both
of them are leaves.
Nature girl that I am.

This night we were having cucumber salad
as a side. Perfect for the white leaf dish.

A small touch of vintage lace on every table
is so pretty to me.
Votives and candles from
The Dollar Store.
Do you shop there for your tablescapes?
Lots of great buys.

Tablecloth is so old I don't remember where I got it.

Thanks for stopping by I appreciate it that
you took the time.
Its always nice to see your comments.

The tin cans are elevated to the prettiest vase when you put garden flowers in them! I love the casual and welcoming table you set. Don't dishtowels make the best napkins?

Hi Ahrisha!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I couldn't pass those up for $3 on sale;) I use tin cans for liners all the time and casual containers all the time. Here's a tip: take aluminum foil and mold it snugly to the outside of the can, pull it off and it's easy to insert into the can itself as a liner. Fill the foil lined can with water and do your thing! I just use the can unlined...I use enough canned food that the supply is enless if it does rust out.
I love your tablecloth and the white dinnerware. It's all lovely.

All very pretty! Love the tin can idea! Have you ever punched them to make luminarias? My friends and I punched 100 coffee cans one time ... to light the path to an open house event! Can't find a coffee can now! Thanks for sharing.

I'm tearing labels off of tin cans this afternoon. Darling idea for down home dining. The red dish towels are wonderful as napkins. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay

I love the tin cans for a centerpiece. I can see the kids wanting to help make those. How fun and they look so great with the flowers from your garden. I really love the leave side dishes. They are so unique. I agree, the dollar store here has tons of glassware. I was surprised. Maybe I never looked before I started tablescaping!

Ahrisha,
About the salmon, just don't use the cukes. Make the sauce just with dill. It is delicious that way too!
I am anxious to hear about your new home.
Things are a bit unsettled here~ my son goes back to Seminary the next weekend. Boo hooo! He has been such a joy to have at home. I am so teary! But I'll get through this and be a little more sane!
