French Delight

Greetings Friends~ ~ ~

Getting ready for a little baking. I'm so glad your here. You'll love this easy and sweet treat that makes 16 little mouth fulls of delight. I love to cook with Grand Marnier, the lovely liqueur made in France so when I devised this recipe it was the prefect mate for the cherries or berries, you choose.

I mixed up the strussel in the food processor.
It will be the crust and the topping.
Pat half into your 8X8 pan.

Top with your choice of jam mixed with Grand Marnier.

Top with the rest of the crumbs mixed with the nuts.

Ta Da! Simple and sweet.

Had to show off my newest vintage red rose hankie.
So Sweet.

If you try this recipe I hope you will love it.
Ahrisha's Sweet Crumbly Bars
Prepare an 8X8 baking pan by lining the bottom
with parchment and let it hang over two ends
by about 2".
Butter bottom of parchment
Preheat oven to 375*
2 C. Flour
1/2 C. Sugar
Pulse in processor then add~ ~
1 stick + 6 T. Cold Butter, chopped
Pulse till like cornmeal.
Pat half this mixture into the 8X8 baking pan.
Add 3/4 C. chopped walnuts to remaining mixture.
Set aside.
1 C. Fruit Preserves, Your choice.
(I used Hero Black Cherry)
2-3 T. Grand Marnier
Mix and spread evenly on the crust.
Top with remaining strussel.
Bake for 60 - 70 minutes
till slightly browned on top
Cool in pan then loosen around edges and
lift out to cutting board.
Cut into 16 squares with pizza cutter.
Enjoy.
(In place of liqueur you could use a fruit juice)

Ahrisha, I can just picture (literally) you cooking this up in your beautiful kitchen and bringing this yummy "french delight" to your warm and inviting dinning table. All the while french music is playing in the background. I put this recipe in my favorites.

I found the most marvelous place to go antiquing! I made quite a few purchases! When you come to visit we will make a trip there.
Hugs,
Yvonne

It is a vintage pattern called Rose Chintz, after which I've named my blog! I have quite a few pieces of it. Thank you for your interest in joing my tea party! All you have to do is add - Sandi @ Rose Chintz Cottage and my link- http://sandimyyellowdoor.blogspot.com/ with one of the two Tea Time Tuesday buttons at the top of my sidebar. Hi Ahrisha...

Mmmm...your fruit bars look and sound absolutely divine! And...you used blackberry jam? My favorite fruit!!! It certainly sounds like a quick and easy recipe...I'll have to give it a try! Thanks for sharing it with us!

I love how you presented your fruit bars...sooo very pretty! Love that pink quilt that you used on the table...it's gorgeous! Ohhh...and I love your new pink rose handkerchief too! Looks like you had a very enjoyable evening...a bite of sweets, a great magazine, and all of it in such a beautiful place!!!

Well my friend, I just wanted to come by and meet you! Thank you so much for coming by and taking a peek at my Tea Time Tulips...I enjoyed your sweet note! You were asking about the crystal cake pedestal plate and cover...I found that at Dillards online during their "after midnight Christmas sale". It is Shannon lead crystal from Ireland and originally sold for $180 (if I remember correctly)...I got it for a mere $18...yes, I couldn't believe it!!! I was really doin' my happy dance! Hehe! I have had so many people comment on it...now I wished that I had bought several! And...it was free shipping! It's soooo heavy...it probably would have cost a small fortune to ship. I looked a couple of months ago...and they were no longer carrying them, but maybe they will at a later time. You might check out Macy's...sometimes they carry the same items as Dillards. Anyway, so sorry...that probably wasn't much help.

I also wanted to thank you for adding Happy To Design to your list of blog follows! I have also added your delightful blog to my list and really look forward to your upcoming posts and getting to know you. It's so nice to meet you, Ahrisha!!!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friend!
