Tablescape Thursday

Please pull up a chair and join me for lunch. Just the two of us so we can catch up. Honestly I would love to have lunch with each of you. There is a hand knit shawl waiting for you if you feel a chill pull it around your shoulders. Let me light the candles.

There is so much going on in Blogland that sometimes I feel it's hard to keep up. Susan at Between Naps On The Porch is hosting Tablescape Thursday and today I am going to play along.
Be sure to click on the title (above) to link to her site and see the list of everyone who is participating today.

I just love the tablecloth quilt that my Mother hand pieced and quilted for me. I have it on my table most of the time. The two white doillies were made by Mom too. They are tatted and each one is 8" across. Aren't they pretty? They look so nice with the white flowers and bird nest. She makes the doillies and sells them so if anyone is interested in hand tatted pieces contact me. She will be 88 years young next month and loves to do handwork. She really does the nicest work. Her stitches are even and perfectly worked.
The dishes are my new Spode Delamere pattern in red. I just love them. The little clear glass leaf plates were purchased years ago at an antique shop. The stainless is Onida. I have had this for years and I still love it.

I love the simple centerpiece of flowers in an old jar and the bird nest helps me to focus on the fact that Spring is not too far away!

Have a wonderful day and Thanks for visiting. ~ ~Ahrisha~ ~

Hi Ahrisha! What absolutely beautiful Spode plates...the red and white is stunning, and looks especially gorgeous along with your Mother's AMAZING quilt! Wow! What a treasure, you lucky girl! I love that you keep it out all of the time to admire, and don't keep it stored away, like we often tend to do with our favorite things. I love the tatted dolies too...so pretty with the quilt. Tablescape Thursdays are a blast, aren't they? I'm glad we BOTH decided to join in the fun. :-)

I just love red transferware. I have a set of Johnson Brothers Old Britain Castles pink (but it looks red to me).

Ahrisha...this table is beautiful! I love that you use the quilt full time instead of keeping it tucked away. Your Mom does beautiful work! It takes quite a while to tat (is that the proper way to say it) a piece as large as that...and it's beautiful on your table! Love your Spode china! I don't think Spode makes a pattern I don't just love. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous table for Tablescape Thursday!

P.S. Debbie (Confessions of a Plate Addict) made this beautiful Tablescapers Award that is posted in my sidebar...you need to post it in your sidebar...anyone who posts a tablescape can have it! :-)

I love your tablecloth quilt! As a quilter myself, I love the fact that you use this beautiful quilt and enjoy it and think of your mother when you look at it. That is what keeps quilters quilting. What a wonderful gift. Your red and white transfer ware is lovely on your table too. Very pretty! Love, Paula

Your tablescape is lovely, Ahrisha! Your mom is very talented! I would love for you to let me know how to go about purchasing a beautiful handmade doily! It is quickly becoming a lost art and every handmade doily is precious! I've been admiring your tablecloth whenever I get the chance to visit your blog.

I bet you really do make guests feel welcome with all those little touches like the shawl if they're chilly. And I really love your red plates. They're beautiful. I feel an "I need some Spode" attack coming on. LOL Lovely.

Ahrisha,

Please... let me first comment you on your lovely name. I've never heard of it before.

After reading your comments on my blog, it seems we have a lot in common, from our desire to own a horse to the tatting done by your Mother and my Mother-in-law. The work that goes into the tatting is unbelieveable, and becoming a lost art. Did you notice that we also lived in Pa. before moving here? I've ofen used quilts on our table too, but mine have all been store bought, however, there is nothing like those that are hand made.
I'm sure my love for Collie's came from watching the Lassie shows too. Mine came from Hegins Pa. one of my girlfriends raised them, but has moved and doesn't any longer.

I'm going to add you to my Favorite Blogs List so that I'll be sure to visit again.

Smiles :)

Hi Ahrisha! Thanks for stopping by my place so I could find yours! Love your name BTW! Beautiful tablescape! The quilt is gorgeous and so special because it was made just for you. The doillies are lovely! What does your mum charge for her work may I ask? I'd love to have some! And may I also add I love your dining room set. I have a fondness for anything with the prince of Wales feathers *winks* And to add toile...makes me swoon! *winks* Vanna

Hi Ahrisha,
I love your tablescape. The red and white are so pretty and I love the tablecloth. Are you using a quilt? If so, that is so clever. I love your dishes too. I have often longed to have a set like them. Thanks for visiting Carolina Panache. I hope you liked the RED.
Warmly,
Alisa
