The Last Peaches and Flowers of Summer

Don't you just love peaches?

These are a variety called Loring and are asking to be a pie.
I had a few sweet cherries in a bowl so I added them to the mix.

Everything in the shell and the butter at the ready to dot on the top.

Like I said before, my pies look very homemade but that doesn't stop me from making them.

I cut a few leaves from the scraps to decorate the top. In honor of the falling leaves that will soon litter the ground here. Already the trees are beginning to turn yellow and orange. Seems a little early, doesn't it?

Be sure to bake your pies on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. They sure do make a mess.

Why is it that everytime I begin a project around here help finds it's way to me. Do you see the ears? That's my helper. Actually he eats my flower arrangements so I have to be careful what I bring into the house.

This sweet little pitcher is a recent flea market find. The flowers are a fall blooming clematis that is just full of flowers this year. Tiny little white ones and I added a few red geraniums. Red and white makes my heart sing. How about you? What colors do it for you?

The new kittens have been named~ ~ ~Caramel and Licorice. Can you guess which is which? Licorice says, I really really love my sister but this flower pot is getting smaller and smaller. I don't think we can do this for much longer. Can you believe I found both of them in this 8" round pot. Must be like being in the womb.

Caramel needed a good stretch after her nap.

Caramel and Licorice are my two favorite candies and these little guys are so sweet!

Hi Ahrisha, I love your apple cherry pie, and your pie crust looks perfect to me! I can just taste it with a scoop of Lancaster County ice cream, yum! Those cats are too cute and I love the names, suits them both so well. I admit, I do love orange flowers a lot! xo,

Hi Ahrisha - That peach pie looks scrumptious. I love it when a pie looks home-made. Are those kittens ever sweet. I have three and their momma in my spare room right now. Picked them up at our local shelter as there was no room for them. They are 1 week old. Good luck with those sweeties. I presume you are keeping them. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

Many years ago we lived next to a family who owned an old-fashioned white freestone peach tree--lovely fruit, very tender.

They cut it down one day because they couldn't be bothered to pick the peaches and they were makeing a mess of the lawn.

I adore peach pies. We had a wonderful peach tree in our last home, that we're missing very much...especially at this time of year!

Oh Ahrisha, just seeing precious Caramel & Licorice made my Heart soar! Thanks for stopping by... actually that photo in the Post of my youngest Grandchild is the 1st time I have seen her & so it came at the perfect time! My Daughter & SIL live in Mexico & life there can be very challenging economically so they rarely take photos & its too dangerous to travel there with the rest of the Family right now so my Heart often aches for the visuals of the four Grand-Daughters, Gt. Grandson, youngest Daughter and SIL who live there and I cannot see & touch. We have an oldest Daughter, SIL and three Grand-Daughters who live on the East Coast, but their life there is good & not as many concerns so I have more Peace about it... though I do miss seeing any of the G-Kids who live at a distance & holding them. Perhaps that is why the Lord arranged for us to be raising these two, so that each day I have a pair to hold & watch growing up, not missing a moment of their lives? The Man got decent news today at the VA Hospital so I'm a bit more relieved about his health crisis... but my Brother had the serious car accident & is not doing well, his Girlfriend is still Hospitalized & Mom has that recurrent brain infection {she lives with them now} so I've had so much on my Heart, Spirit & Mind that it just got me way down. Thanks for the uplifting message, the support of Friends has meant so much during a difficult time.

Blessings from the AZ Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian

Hi Ahrisha!

Just popping in to see if all is well with you. Its been too long since you've posted.

I have to thank you for the suggestion of putting parchment paper down on a sheet beneath a pie. In all the years I've been cooking (a loooong time!) I never thought about doing that & making clean up easier. Duh? Lightbulb moment for sure.

Hope you're okay,
fondly,
Rett
